Sheryl Budnik was born in Grand Rapids, MI where she currently resides. She recieved her BFA from the University of Michigan and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin. Budnik's travels have taken her throughout Europe and Asia. She draws inspiration from the Great Lakes, the vast ocean, and the fields and orchards near her home.
